Ski fever

A generous hour-drive from Ljubljana, in the north west corner of the country lies Kranjska Gora, which obtained its great reputation as a ski centre through World Cup alpine skiing races. Every winter for more than fifty years on the steep slopes of the competition polygon below Vitranc, the two most important races in World Cup alpine skiing take place – the men’s slalom and giant slalom races.

It’s happening this weekend, 9-10 March, so if you are in Slovenia, this is an excellent event to check out. Slovenians have a strong skiing tradition, so this is like a sports holiday and Slovenians from all over the country come to see it.

Check out their web page!
