World Music Festival is (almost) here!
We pointed out this incredible festival already last year, and here we are again, telling you to visit this, probably best, music festival in Slovenia, Druga godba. With no doubt it is the best festival hosting World music, but we also think it outshines other festivals through the quality of music being performed, by the world-famous artists that come to Ljubljana for it, by the diversity of venues and events, its good organization, and being the only one that runs non-stop for 29 hours straight.
This unique approach, even in European terms, was first introduced last year and was very well received by concert-goers. This year’s programme also presents something very special: in addition to a host of stars from Africa, the two Americas, Europe and the Far East, there will be an appearance by one of Slovenia’s most popular performers, Magnifico – the first time a domestic act has headlined the festival.
There will be a series of accompanying events running alongside the concerts, from workshops for children and social get-togethers to lectures, and an international conference, which will give Slovenia’s musicians a chance to forge links with their counterparts from around the world.
