Holy Cave

Everyone reading here knows about the world famous Postojna Cave, and
many of you might have even heard that we have thousands of caves, about
10,000 registered ones. One, Skocjan Cave, is even on the UNESCO list.
But did you know there is also a Holy Cave?

Next time you are headed to the coast, take the highway exit towards the
castle Socerb. Not far from it, maybe a 3 minute walk, lies the Holy Cave.

It’s a small carst cave that was turned into the church – obviously, not
an ordinary Catholic church with bell tower and frescos on the wall.
Instead, its treasures of stalagmites and stalactites adorn the space,
filling your entire field of vision.

The cave is open Sundays at 2 PM. Regular entrance is 3 EUR.
